Club Ambassador - Barking
Club Ambassador in Barking, 20-30 London Road, Barking IG11 8AJ
Kenyan entertainment venue. Far from being just a bar/restaurant, where you can sample the delights of Kenyan cuisine, including the famous Nyama Choma and Matumbu, this venue has become the hub of Kenyan socializing. Club Ambassador closed for a short while earlier this year but has opened it’s doors again after months of legal battles that were won in their favour.
With a late night licence until 4 am every every night, Ambassador Club has become the venue of choice for many an African function or promotion. Not just East Africans but other African nations avail themselves of this proud establishment. Not to mention the local community in general.
As you enter into the softly lit theme, you become absorbed by it’s character made so by the managing team. Whether you enter on a more quieter, but never dull, early weekday evening, or a vibrant and enchanting weekend night, you’ll never forget your visit. In the early weekday evening you can just relax at the bar with an ice cold Tusker beer (or wine if you prefer) and watch the latest game on the centrally placed plasma screen. Or enjoy some of the body hugging lounge chairs and take in some wildlife safari programmes on Sky. From Thursday onwards activity levels step up several notches and excitement fills the air. The promise of a buzzing night can be seen in the eyes of those regulars who know how it works, but have just popped in early to soak up the pre-frolic vibe. As I said earlier, this is not an exclusively Kenyan experience as all are welcome and are never let down by the warm hosts who help to make every evening a great one - namely, Wahome, Jimi, Koko and Lawrence. These guys are both approachable and helpful. Ask for them by name and tell them we at Kenyan UK sent you.
