Ebola Scare in Nairobi

A woman fell ill in her Nairobi hotel room today and was escorted to Kenyatta Hospital by her father. Ebola is suspected as the cause. On transit to the hospital she began to bleed from all openings of the body and died soon after arrival.

What is Ebola?

Ebola is an extremely serious disease caused by the Ebola virus, so named after the Ebola River in Congo. The Ebola virus causes a high fever, rashes throughout the body and bleeding from all orifices. Death from the Ebola virus can occur very quickly making treatment very difficult.

How is it Contracted?

According to Doctors Ebola can be contracted through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes although the most common type or infection is by tranfer from person to person through the exchange of bodily fluids such as blood or saliva. Yes, and unprotected sex.
